Marine in training

Its been forever!
But here I am.

Just to cover my adventure thus far:

Left for bootcamp on Dec 13 2010. My last civilian meal was at a Golden Corral.
I graduated on March 11th, 2011. I managed to push through an episode of pneumonia and graduate on time.
Went home for my 10days of boot leave. Reported to MCT on March 21st. The following day I was dropped to SAC due to pneumonia. I was unable to train until I recovered fully. For three weeks I was stuck there. But finally picked up with Hotel Company on April 14th. I was excited to finally be getting somewhere and moving forward.
On May 10th, 2011 I graduated from MCT. I earned some badass blisters on my heels, more knowledge, and a certificate. And I could now say I'd shot the machine guns and thrown a grenade.
The same day we left on a bus, and flew out to our MOS schools.
My MOS is MP. And unfortunately for me, that meant reporting to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. And on top of that I learned MPs have the slowest pickup for training. Only one class a month picks up.

So here I've been since May 10th. MAT platoon. (Marines awaiting training). My class will pickup in August. We will then graduate in October. Freedom from Misery is so far away. But its getting closer.
Since my time here I've had to 'heal' from cellulitis i picked up in MCT. And just as I was getting over that I was hospitalized for an Atrial Flutter. Fortunately i skipped the crash cart and just needed meds to reset the heart.
I'm doing good now. Finally off 'light duty', a status Marines despise. Now that I'm full duty again I can return to PT with the platoon and don't have to feel left out of the group.

I do have to say, that being on an Army base sucks. But at the same time it shows us examples of why Marines do the things they do. Cause it makes us look good. Here, we joke about the Army being a bag of ass. But in the end, we're all in the military so we do have respect for their choice to serve. But we still enjoy making fun of them.

I love being a Marine!
